What really gets me is that he had to have given up his parental rights for Jiu to get custody of her. Not temporary custody but fully giving up his rights. There’s no way he wouldn’t have heard when his ex-wife died yet he gave his daughter up to an uncle she’s only met three times.
It’s not fair of him to barge back into her life like this and try to take her back after she’s finally truly comfortable. And to America at that when her support system is in Japan it’s not a place Kaiser and Jiu will be able to visit easily. Just imagine the money and time. I understand he may have had a hard time but the way he’s going about this is terrible.
Although i fully agree, you cant take complicated matters like this at face value. Yes he had let go of his daughter but im sure that decision itself was hard for him to follow through with. In this case, where its implied that the father didnt have the means to take care of his child, leaving her in the care of someone else would have been a selfless act of love. Knowing that he would have to say goodbye to his daughter so that she can live a happy life with minimal hardship which is something he wouldnt have been able to guarantee her. Id say its only natural that he wish to see his daughter again after becoming more stable in whatever he was dealing with, plus its not like he plans to steal back his daughter hes trying his best to persuade both his daughter, jiu and yona.
Well, I still want to slap Yui's father.. yeah I know he has his own reasons like being busy working for the family... but still, you indirectly neglected your child for years. Then when your child is comfortable with his adoptive family, you want to take her? You're so shameless!
Unless it's your child's own wish, I have no comment. But if the case is now, I don't even dare to ask for my child back. You can visit ur child often, give the affection that you haven't given before without having to steal your child from the family that already loves her.
