Honestly I don't understand why they're making all these plans aiding the Duchess and saying crystal is our guest and receiving our protection and we won't send her back and risking an unnecessary fight with house rotary. Crystal wants to live like a man (he said so in a previous chapter) and everyone knows he's a man so just let the boy live like he's always wanted and just say sorry we got no lady crystal here and this Blondie is Dave and it's just a coincidence that he's blond. No one will be able to figure it out crystal was a man cuz house rotary knows Julia as crystal (who very much was a woman with boobies as shown in her portrait) and everything can be solved easily
It's safer to keep up the ruse that Crystal is a girl because if they suspect on any level Crystal is a boy, they might kill him or force him to be a political pawn. Julia and his parents would also be punished for lying to the crown. Either way, Crystal is a refuge and is seeking asylum in the Duke's territory. Not returning Crystal could be seen as an act of aggression and they could go to war over him. Only the royals are blonde with blue eyes so there's no way to have a random servant look like that. If they had contacts, they could have him wear them and dye his hair, but for now they are deescalating the situation. Letting them see "Crystal" (Julia) is alive, safe, and well taken care of so his father doesn't try anything. If they get in good graces with the Empress, his stepmom, she would be able to authorize Crystal's marriage to the Duke. Either way they are man and wife, so they would be one hell of a power couple.
