my hot take is misandry isn’t real (jk!!).
but fr fr, i think this is a false equivalent take— considering how misogyny is built on actual societal structures and misandry just…isnt. i just don’t think your friend hating men is comparable to another person hating women, particularly a man hating women despite (horrific) experiences.
i can acknowledge how that hate may have come to be, i can recognize and sympathize with the situation that could have fostered that hatred, but, ultimately i can’t excuse it. so ill judge bigotry— especially when that bigotry is misogyny.
and for further clarification i don’t want my take to scream “so he can’t hate his abuser b/c [insert potentially misunderstood take]” or whatever bs like that.
that man can feel and should feel whatever type of emotion he has toward his assaulter & im definitely not tryna excuse or make it seem like the feelings he has toward his abuse are invalid. /gen /nm
have a big feeling the duke was unfortunately raped (similarly to that snow white manhwa) but that’s not an excuse to be misogynistic… sigh
