Disappointed on hair color

Samsamson January 6, 2025 7:25 pm

We all saw J in chapter 1 with a different hair color: light ashy brown. I’m disappointed the artist didn’t switch his hair color back to the light brown when they did the fragment images, because that’s supposed to be J’s original hair color. Light ashy brown hair, a plain mask and blue eyes (because of a skill activation) are J’s signature look!

Also, SaYoung, iirc, is supposed to be in a house in the fragment where he’s calling out for J/hyung. He looks like he’s surrounded by destruction. The house setting is important because it plays a role in future chapters, but I digress.

This story has so many nuances that I understand the artist can’t do everything. But I’m disappointed by the hair color not switching. Hopefully the readers over there say something about it.

    Okay J's signature look. ( ̄へ ̄)
But you know that MC doesn't want anyone to recognise him as J because his tired of it all?
Regardless of a different HAIRCOLOR, his still J.
Maybe the author is trying to make him appear a lil different than J because even J himself doesn't want to be annoyed by the higher ups to call him back for wrk?Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
(If he looked exactly as the previous old J, the higher ups and everyone will recognise him as J who dissapeared, nomatter what MC tries to tell or lie about it).
He clearly stated in the beginning of the chapters that he doesn't want to be bothered and wants to live a peaceful life like an ordinary citizen this time.( ̄∇ ̄")

ah they mean the hair in the fragmented world/the memory of the future. everyone there know who's J so he didn't need to duisguise himself. now it's said, I just noticed it too! good memory novel reader. i think the artist should have drawn it more carefully if the hair and house are important. but i heard the novel is long winded so the artist probably missed it or just trying to make the pace fit better by annexing some stuff. i will still be disappointed tho

Novel reader here! His hair turned ashy due to the West Sea Rift. The artist did not make a mistake with his hair colour in the vision. Take that info as you wish!

I thought his hair was OG ashy, but I’ll re-read! It’s such a long novel and I read it quickly. Spoilers below

The reason I was certain his hair was OG ashy is because it’s inconsistent otherwise. The story mentions the hair dying process a lot, Bee’s unknowingly convenient hair dye gift to Eui-Jae for becoming a hunter, the hangover soup granny recognized J on sight (weird she knew if the only similarity is his clothes), Eui Jae stops doing his hair dye when he resumes his role as J, when J returns there’s no mention of J changing his look with ashy brown hair in the news.

I think it’s weird author would make the hair dyeing process part of Eui Jae’s character and not J’s. If J was to return, J dying his hair would fit the character better, not Eui Jae who was intent on hiding. This honestly feels like a major story plot hole to me now.

@Jasper: it’s exactly as Coco said. I’m talking about the hair color of J in the fragment piece. From my understanding, J’s hair was OG ashy, so fragment J should also have ashy hair. but I’m going to re-read novel and see if I misunderstood. Xavier mentioned J’s hair turned ashy from the WSR.

EuiJae dying his hair was mentioned often in the novel, also it later signaled a turning point for EuiJae. It seems like a character development plot hole to me if his hair wasn’t og ashy. It would make sense if those scenes in relation don’t make it to the comic if hair wasn’t OG ashy.

@Coco: low key scared they’ll delete the house scene… not everything can be brought over, but I’ll be so disappointed if they don’t include it.

i dont onow what you mean by world 1 and 2, at least in this webtoon when he first returned to the earth his hair is ashy tho? he also seen dying his hair, so what's up with that?
i will believe it if it's plot hole from author (novel) like samsamaon said

and it still doesn't make sense even if it's the case of time travelling, except if he time travelled and forgot his memory then he became the current mc who dyed his hair brown/black to hide his identity
