The reason I can't sit with the story is because the bottom forgave the top sooo easily.....like the chasing arc was just too short.

honestly, the uke never blamed the top for anything. That's the problem. Even as he tried to take his own life, the uke felt that he, himself was the one that "ruined" the top and asked him for forgiveness. He really is probably the most pitiful bottom i have ever seen!! but i am glad he is happy at least since it doesn't seem he was ever going to stop loving the top
The problem is that the suffering arc was mostly skipped! If you wanna see the top suffer you got to read the novel!
You need to consider that mc does not have the full mental capacity of an adult, he was blamed all his life, mistreated and abused. Mentally weak people are easily manipulated and often Blake themselves for everything that happens in the relationship. They don't see themselves as victims but as the cause of everything. Personally I don't think author went that deep with the mc's character but when you start to read about human brains, manipulation and toxic relationship it really shows how some people can forgive even the worst treatment they received.
i can't with this, how can the bottom forgive the top just like that after what the top did in the past?
