I think it's a matter of picking her battles
Yes, she "cleared" his name but also made him look incompetent and made it clear that she still holds the true power between the two of them. It was a political move where she presented an option where he could only choose to yield power to her or risk looking really bad in the public eye. Either way his seat of power is weakened and he was backed into that corner.
Targeting him more directly could lead to an actual war because he is the king? That's not a situation she wants her or her family to be in, especially not when it was caused by a power struggle for a throne she willing forfeited and didn't even want.
Because her brother’s intention wasn’t to use black magic and she has no intention of taking her brother’s throne, which is the thing he’s most unsecured about
oh i think everyone in that country KNOWS how incompetent the brother is (always has been). that is why he has got is so bad & why he's got a grudge against her.
she knows this fact, but keeps ignoring the situation hoping that staying out of the capitol & away from him, will make the problem go away.
