I do want him to find a new reason to live but I don't want others to take that decision for him. Like, "Oh, you're the honoured one, you can't just die! Make the upcoming dungeon your reason for living or how this or that person is in love with you." If he wants to die then, let him die. Don't guilt trip him by saying something like, "You need to live for your childhood friend, the dead people and me. They wanted you to live, that's why left their will to you!" So what, did he ask?:)
