convince me to read

so I remember trying to read this before and being absolutely grossed out with how abusive the ML acted, so i dropped it. but that was a while back and now everyone seems to love it? did the ML have a godly redemption arc and is treating MC with respect now? i’m curious but i don’t wanna read through all the beginning just for mediocre apologies and barely any change. i don’t mind spoilers, can anyone explain how much it changes?

i went thru the same thing. i read it in its first season years ago but couldn’t get past 10 chaps!! But i gave it a try last week and its seriously really good. there are some scenes where it feels forced and those have warning but the main leads eventually establish an agreement / relationship.
from there, feelings start to evolve. but it’s not literally until chap 40s where Lee Nok (the prince) asks for Jaeshins name. It’s like slow burn in a way but VERY GOOD. i really like the plot it’s unique and i feel like no one in BL is doing joseon era + ghosts/demons/horror. And there are no holes in the story like every little plot line has been followed up on. I’m excited <3 to keep reading

ANYWAYS YES READ IT and then tell me if u like it. the art too.. omg

i just saw you asked how it changes… let me give some examples. the main notable thing

    SPOILER ALERT*****

is that jaeshin truly starts to respect Lee nok as a human and not just a possession. Jaeshin also starts to care for humans more after the reality that lee nok will die. They start addressing each other by name (respect). Lee nok moves on from his childhood crush. It’s all very lovey dovey it’s just the beginning … I’d recommend just reading past the sex scenes if it makes you uncomfortable. The plot in the beginning is still important so i wouldn’t skip it entirely, but just the sex scenes. JaeSHIN is obviously using Lee nok to free the curse and yin energy. If you skip those sex scenes in the beginning you aren’t missing much.
