I was thinking more like after WW2 rather than the cold war, but that also makes sense. The false sense of peace, the hidden but not so hidden power struggles, and the spies do fit more with a cold war aftermath setting
i saw someone on twt say the spy x family universe is kinda like the cold war, so the aliens aren’t completely random. it still feels very unserious tho
