If she weren’t strong, both she and her son would have perished long ago. Given her power, the king is forced to tread carefully for now. Her attempt to eliminate the prince is a calculated and logical move for someone navigating the ruthless power struggles of royalty. It’s a cold-blooded decision, but I wonder if you hold the same critique for the countless male leads who indiscriminately slaughter others to achieve their goals—a trope that’s all too common.
Once the prince matures, he would almost certainly pose a threat to her son’s life, as he did in the first timeline. Fortunately, MC can protect himself this time around.
It’s been specified that her actions stem from fierce maternal instincts. She has been driven partially insane from having to constantly fend off the king.
Within the brutal dynamics of royalty, her choices are not only expected but normalized. This is the world she was raised to survive in. Mind u, the king started it AND put his son in that position.
Her actions don’t need to align with your perspective to be valid. She’s doing what she can. Imo, refusing to understand her situation is a very one dimensional take. Only the strong can stand against the king, and that’s exactly what she’s doing.
I do understand but again it doesn’t mean I have to feel sorry for her for hurting others. Doesn’t matter if it is normalized I still don’t have to feel sorry…I don’t like abusers point blank.
I personally don’t consider her strong that’s just my opinion at least. Again I don’t care if it’s normalized or anything. I don’t hate her but I also don’t like her at all.
Oh I absolutely agree. I’m thinking about if I were to be in both situations. I would definitely resent her, and if I were her I wouldn’t even know what to do. I mean what would you even do in that situation?
However, I don’t get treating such a young boy in such a way. Or certain people in that way. Is it due to her mentality? Or rather something else? Well I suppose people sometimes don’t understand why they do some things.
If only modern therapy was in this world, but I doubt that based on how the people are. I mean punishing and the possible punishment for that child just because he pick pocketed? That’s a little much..The morals in this world seem to be the main thing which is quite concerning as well.
I only hope the main character would implement some modern morals in this world if he were to become a ruler. Change around the law a little as well though that goes without saying with the modern morals in all.
The queen, my Sheylaa. I’ll be devastated if she gets killed again this time, but it feels inevitable :(
The only one who deserves to be disposed of is the scum king. He wanted a kept lover and planned to crown their illegitimate son. Ofc a queen from a more powerful empire, with dignity and pride, wouldn’t just bow down and let herself be trampled on.
It seems like people aren’t considering her side at all. Her reaction to the king’s betrayal feels entirely on brand for a strong and powerful queen. He continuously forced her hand, leaving her with no other choice. I’d much rather have her than some submissive queen who lets the scum king walk all over her.
Looking at power politics, she HAD to have a son! And her ultimate goal was to ensure his safety, that’s what turned her into a mama bear.
The palace is brutal, the king was always going to go after her son’s life. He failed his own son, the lover, and the queen.
The king is utterly unfit to be a ruler. His duty was to show respect to the queen for the sake of peace, yet he prioritized his selfish desires over the empire and did so in the most insulting way possible due to arrogance. If that was how he intended to act, he should‘ve just let a sibling take the throne. The queen tried upholding the alliance all on her own, but he failed to do the same from the very get go. (This is how I remember things off the top of my head).
In the first timeline, it seems ML had always harbored romantic feelings for MC on a subconscious level. While his reasons for killing MC were never specified, it’s clear he had a deep obsession.
He would get mad whenever others flocked to MC due to his flirtatious nature.
Internally ML struggled with conflicting emotions—his forbidden love, avenging his mother, appeasing the king, and his duty as the CP to pursue a relationship with the high ranking noble woman that was dating MC.
This inner turmoil led him to lash out at both of them, resulting in their deaths. He resented the woman for hogging MC and hated seeing him share with others what he wished they could’ve had tgr. The feeling of love, coloured with hatred had long since turned dark, twisted by their sour relationship and unfulfilled desires.
Also, MC is the OG. It’s kind of a Penelope situation.
I just want all the ladies to make it out alive this time x
