I honestly doubt the author would go that direction knowing that others can see him too and because of his past but your theory seems fun to think about because that would definitely be a plotwist
seeing the ghost around the dad reminds me of the image of Seme always clinging to MC which made me think that maybe the Seme was a ghost who was clinging to MC all this time (thats why hes so used to being all over the mc and also could be why he keeps having dreams) After the incident he couldve possessed the original friend which explains why MCs bad luck is gone and we always see Seme in unlucky situations bc MAYBE hes the one who originally was cursed w bad luck and due to sticking close to MC as a ghost passed it over.
like everyone else, i also think hes part of the MCs past but i dont think hes the person he says he is. those are just theories for now, def excited to see how this all turns out
