No hate at all but I’m gonna have to disagree with you on the killing stalking point. Everyone lauds it for committing so hard to the psychological elements and not having the characters end up together that they forget that it is just as stuffed with sexual shit as any other manhwa. I really like ks but just reading the nsfw chapters or even going onto the author’s twitter it’s so obvious that it’s supposed to be fetishistic. Sangwoo as the big dominant man and Bum as his fragile, battered wife and all. Back in killing stalking’s heyday koogi would put out so many fanservicey pinups of the characters because she knew the audience was largely made up of fujoshis who can hold onto their lunch. The difference between ks and this story is that ks was plot with a little porn sprinkled in and this is just porn with zero plot. So you’re totally right abt people trying (and failing) to recapture what made the plot of ks good, but it in no way was a more “respectful” portrayal of its dark themes than most yaoi these days imo :’)
I agree !! It was definitely for a fujoshi audience. My comment seems to be praising KS but there’s many negative things to say about it too. It’s just there’s a desperate attempt from many authors to recreate the dynamic between Sangwoo and Bum and it’s very poorly executed.
Korean bl artist are infected with the killing stalking virus, they want to shock. Sadly they can only produce an idea of what KS really was : an actual good psychological manhwa with only a few allusion to romance or sexual tension. This is void. But hey mc was a bully before and not very nice to people so he deserves it ? Sir you are a criminal and you belong in a even worst place than the mc. We should check the author hard drive.
