Real drama does exist with this wealth gap couples irl, his worries aren't unfounded, the author decided to go with this kind of route over just becoming confident on his bf's background.

Considering how long they were together it's very easy for his ex to manipulate him and people with issues like piljoo are very easy to be manipulated imagine how worse it could be for someone he had loved in multiple ways and for years so tbh I get people being mad but poor piljoo as well it is probably a lot on him
