Idk about the mother, she's probably too miserable to care for her own, having to love a child that was an evidence of her husband's affair
But the father is a piece of shit. He doesn't give a shot about his wife, why would he give a shit about the daughter from his wife. He's too hung up on his side bitch and the baby she left behind
Mom is miserable so i think she can't love ilya due to the fact she's a reminder of her misery. The dad on the other had is just a jerk!! I don't understand why he hates her but even after making a promise to his lover that he would love silvia more than anyone.. she could have at least respected ilya. She at the very least deserves that. So idk why he hates her
