That's the thing.
I'm not sure which is less painful:
a sister intentionally destroying the FL's life
or
a sister who's somewhat aware but is turning a blind eye to the destruction she is doing to the FL
Prev lives hints that Sylvia KNOWS that what she did caused FL's life to go to shit BUT is either
- compelled to do nothing about it
- convinced herself that there's nothing she can do about it and/or she deserves the "small" comforts she took from her because of her chronic illness and assumed shortened life span
