Yet she tells her its sad to see her wear the same clothing all the time but never offered to help her, and always saw her overworked but only made jokes, and said she was too old to be in an attractive guys league. Shes more of a hater than a friend

This doesn't make sense at all. She doesn't have a whole lot of money herself. I'm better off then my friend who was almost homeless and I worried for her and so apparently I should have bought her a house? No ofc I couldn't cause I'm poor myself and literally living with people. Not only that it's been shown time and time again she doesn't accept things from people, she only accepted stuff from him because he's trying to get with her and she knows that.
I'm close with my coworkers like this and would still be worried for them if they are in a cheating relationship. Know why? Cause I'm not a POS and have empathy

I'm simply just saying that the commentation on things she cant change isnt necessary and even moreso simply just rude because it's obvious that the main character is uncomfortable with the commentary. She doesnt have to swap wardrobes with the poor woman, but if she didnt want to help then she shouldn't bring up what they both know is an economic struggle, especially in a public work setting. The friend is constantly rude and overstepping boundaries which is clear in almost every encounter. If you just met someone I doubt you'd allow them to say such things to you, and that idealogy applies to coworkers that you're not close with as well.
