GIRL you already slept with him, he's told you he loves you, how awful to then say to him 'I want to just be friends so I don't lose you' honey, if you don't want him as a boyfriend that's fine, but you don't get to keep him as a friend after this. You're not entitled to his friendship, just as he is not entitled to having you as his girlfriend.
I don't think I even understand her reservations since she cut herself off from him because of the rumours anyway, what are you losing that you didn't throw away already? I know it's because we need a plot but this is just a stretch. Could have been centered around working through his jealousy and abandonment issues around her cutting him off before. Learning to trust each other etc not arbitrarily not becoming a couple to drag out the story.
Agreed though, the lounge was disturbing. Feeling that pressure to sleep with someone in a situation you're not comfortable in is awful. Even as a married woman I feel that pressure. I don't go along with it but the pressure to do it and the guilt for not is so unfair. Even though he isn't actually bothered by my saying no, I still feel these things so that scene kind of triggered me.
