my take from the argument lmao
from what I read and understand, dudes basically saying that using terms like “mom” for male-identifying characters in omegaverse couples doesn’t sit right with him because he thinks it contradicts their identity as men. He probably feels like it reinforces stereotypes or undermines their masculinity, and his suggestion to just call them both “dads” aligns with that belief. Personally, though, it just feels overblown to me.
But get this....his argument seems to completely overlook the fictional nature of omegaverse. Omegaverse is all about its own world-building, where traditional terms like “mom” or “dad” can take on completely different meanings. Authors and readers have creative freedom here, and it’s not necessarily tied to real-world gender norms. His insistence on avoiding "mom" as a term, despite the fictional setting, feels like he’s projecting real-world discomfort onto a story that isn’t bound by real-world rules. But I digress. At the end of the day, the author gets to make those calls because it’s their story. It’s really not that deep.
Who else just sat and read the entire argument in the comments
