I also thought the same but at the end of rhe day they don't know he was under influence and in old days even if it was known as well they won't care
True tho even before he was under the influence, he still didn't really do anything to stop his mom and instead let others get hurt/die, just to keep himself safe and comfy in the palace. He let the people of his kingdom suffer because he was to afraid to fight for them and just wanted for everyone else to do the heavy work for him. I mean pretty sure he was completely on board with getting his brother killed in war just so he can easily get the crown.
Agreed, out of everyone he is the only one that deserved pity!!!!
I thought in novel, he was spared due to the drugs and dark magic left him a fool....

He was all along a puppet for his mother, drugged and put under dark magic, but he didn't actually do anything bad or good
So maybe he could have been prisoned for a while or smth. Death was too much for him.
