It'd be a great addition to his character if it turned out it was all an act... But unfortunately I don't think that is the case
It would be great and him saying to the friend that emperor proposed to him but also states law that it's silly bc they can't supports it. I would love if he was just playing a dumb but he is definitely a bit.
He's not acting dumb, remember how someone asked him what if the emperor wants to marry him? He said it's impossible and doesn't even entertain the thought. Keep in mind, the two of them clearly were this close to each other since childhood, for him this IS the norm. These things combined says to me that he sees the emperor's actions as nothing but platonic with no doubt in his mind, because he thinks it's impossible for them to date/marry
What I meant by an "act" is his abnormally naive and oblivious personality. Imagine him being scared of the emperor so he plays along with him without giving a straight answer cuz he knows that marriage between them is impossible. I know very well that the plot won't go into that direction but it would be impressive if it did.
Watch Asha turn out to be not THAT oblivious and actually is just acting so because from what he knows 2 men cannot get married.
Not claiming he is fully aware of the meaning behind all of the emperor’s actions but he’s got to at least know his majesty is weird af ☠
