I also didn't understand it, like must there's more to it that we didn't know yet, bc if it just it this doesn't make sense. My guess is she was away when discovered the pregnancy and they are in doubt if the son is the Duke or another imperial family member who also have silver hair, so since the kid is born with her eyes and not his eyes they can't say for sure it's his kid, bc the silver hair could be of someone else
She could cheat on duke with emperor who also have silver hair.
So the child was born with his father's hair, which is a trait from his royal bloodline, and his mother's eyes, and people were wondering about his lineage??? Did I understand this correctly? Are people in this place really that stupid?
