Ngl the portrayal of Dan's despair is surprizingly good. But there's one missing thing. What Dan is suffering from is loneliness (which is also the reason he originally left Jaekyung). Since he didn't get any friends his age to rely on, he will now feel better after a long while because Jaekyung is back (though he might be suffering from something else now). But this is just stupid. He will think that he feels better because it's Jaekyung, but in his place it could be any other (actually) reliable guy, and his problem would get solved. But if he had met this guy I'm doubting he'd ever go back to this creep lmao, which is why the author didn't introduce a new friend/potential love interest for Dan, even though this was the best time to do it. Because Jaekyung is the worst of the worst.
