He still cared greatly for Lee won and his mother, enough so that he realized this line of work also put them in danger, most likely bc of his position it put a target on their backs and a weakness to Lee won and his mother, as well as Lee won and his mother were a weakness to Lee won’s Father. Basically he still loved them, but understood the danger he put his loved ones in, and was willing to send them away for that.

I believe I remember it mentioned that Lee won and his mother stayed with Lee won’s father when Lee won was still a baby/young child probably toddler in Russia. Then they split and Lee won and his mother went back to South Korea, meaning Lee won doesn’t have any memories of his father or who he was, bc they went back to S. K. When Lee won was rather young. And obviously he stayed in S. K. Until his mother died and he was given her will to find his father which brought him back to Russia? Tbh I don’t know if he was born in Russia or S. K. Though, so I could be wrong.

I wasn’t sure when I think back to the picture that Lee Won’s Father has of Lee Won as a baby in his wallet, if that was given to him from Lee Won’s Mother when they were over seas or if they took that themselves when he was still in Russia. I used to think the Mother just sent pictures over to the Father from time to time, but then we learned they weren’t in contact, and I remember the Father mentioning something that made it seem that pic of Lee Won was taken when the Father was still with them. Which made me come to that conclusion.
