I thought that too, he's clearly so exhausted. Tbh I thought he was going to pass out, but I suppose it could have been mental exhaustion as well on top of it if it turns out he did do this on purpose.
Also I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t think Dan tried to purposely kill himself, I think he’s sleepwalking and just walked into the ocean
