He is weak physically, emotionally and mentally and I don't blame him. In this chapter he expresses his loneliness after potato and heesung because he does yearn for affection outside of his grandmother ( explains how he even fell for asshat jk in the first place) but he just doesn't know how create these bonds outside her without feeling guilty cz the woman gave her old age to him.
Side not I'm glad heesung didn't even think of making moves on Dan. I hate that people were insinuating that that would be a thing again after it being buried so long ago.
