Yes! I also wonder if the author will bring up the incident with the doctor that tried to assault Dan. Cause I know that doesn’t necessarily have any impact on the story anymore, but that was the reason he couldn’t get a normal therapist job afterwards
I’m hoping that JY is gentle with Dan after seeing he was so close to offing himself. I’m scared he’s gonna be his typical self. I think this would be a great place for the author to write in some character development.
Also, are some readers not connecting the dots between his shattered self worth - his mom literally abandoning him when he was a child - and being bullied at a young age? You don’t think that would fuck with your self worth? Sure he had his grandmother, but he still had to deal with the loan sharks. Instead of enjoying his youth, he had to take on multiple jobs to help out. He doesn’t regret helping his grandmother, but her situation is both emotionally and physically draining. He doesn’t have any other family, and doesn’t seem like he had any friends (growing up) so he’s been dealing with this by himself this whole time. Doing all that for as long as he has and STILL managing to be a kind person? That’s strength
