oh boy your innocent soul is in for a wild ride... I read the novel and hated it with all my heart. There was no redemption arc (as if there can be) and things just keep getting worse all the way to the end. Fasten ur belts ┗( T﹏T )┛
what happened

I read it a year ago but here are the important parts.
Uncle Bill damages the garden house on the estate and he gets arrested.to save uncle Bill and his job Layla has to pretty much sell her body to the Duke. She then runs away to different country and she finds out that she’s pregnant. The country that she’s in gets into a war with her home country the Duke is a general in the army, and he finds out where she is and invade and conquers the town. He captures her and keeps her locked in a hotel. She tries to shoot him she doesn’t do it. I think they got bombed and the Duke got hurt. He tells her to run away, but she doesn’t she felt bad and they made up. I think the Duke for bad for the way that he treated her. He apologized, but it was kind of a shit apology. They get married and raise their kid together.
