It feels more like the emperor doesn’t even realize he has feelings for MC. Instead, he keeps using MC for his own benefit. MC goes through a lot of suffering, but he’s strong when it comes to defending himself.
If I remember correctly, the spoilers mentioned that there will be a happy family in the side story (iykyk). I think, it’s a happy ending with the usual emotional rollercoaster.

I've come to the realization that every Historical story is angsty asf. I'm okay with it though I know how to turn off my emotions and read the story for what it is. With all that being said I seen other spoilers and I guess my confusion is the Seme honestly look like he really like and enjoyed the Uke company and personality. It seems like he really enjoyed seeing someone who is actually kind not vindictive nor a thief or evil. Since it might've seem like it's always schemes going on in the palace. So to find out it all was a lie leaves me discombobulated a little bit. It felt like some real serious chemistry there. I didn't see any comments about the Seme physically or sexually abusing him but moreso just neglectful. I guess I'm still hoping for Uke to come out on top even if he is stuck in the palace. I hope he doesn't get abused by others and ran over I hope he shows his true inner strength because at the end of the day he is royalty himself.

** So I just saw some of the raws and honestly it looks like the emperor is smitten with the uke. Yes the seme has another lover ( I'm questioning if he ever slept with him cause I don't think he has but I'm unsure) who looks like he pretends to be weak and cry a lot to make the seme dote on him and protect him. If he really is into the lover like that it doesn't last long when uke enter the palace cause he no longer gives him all that attention & I can't read the language but it's honestly giving the vibes of Seme actually likes the uke I think he likes that the uke challenges him but he is trying to fight his feelings but eventually gives in. && Uke seems like he really likes the seme despite the cold treatment at first. Uke is definitely making an impression on the harem and on the seme. So im unsure of how accurate those spoilers I've read before
