I don't get everyone keeps on saying he cheated on her. Wasn't it said that he didn't actually cheat it was just rumours that he let happen.
No. He slept with other women but the rumors are indeed exaggerated. Readers say he cheated simply because he was engaged to Ines even though they weren’t in a romantic relationship. On the other hand, when Ines slept with the painter guy while engaged to the crown prince in the previous timeline, readers turn a blind eye to it. Those who do not turn a blind eye to it simply excuse her by saying she had a good reason. They don’t think Carcel had a good reason not to waste his youth over someone who ignored him and basically was indifferent to him all his life except for plotting against him.
However, if a ML in another manhwa was indifferent to FL and ignored her existence while plotting 17 years to divorce her, they would be very upset with the ML for doing exactly what Ines did to Carcel.
Most readers do tend to have narrators bias and it’s especially heavy and prevalent with Ines
They ignore the questionable shit she does with the painter guy and even carcel but God forbid carcel breathes wrong all hell breaks loose

I like everything u said here but I HIGHLY disagree that ines sleeping with the painter was morally wrong yes I will turn a blind eye to that because the prince repeatedly beat and raped her tf it was a desperate attempt to escape her trauma. That being said I don’t hate Carcel for sleeping with other women in the beginning. It makes sense he didn't want to waste his youth plus he’s suffered enough and he's aware of what he did. I just can’t with the whole “two sides of the same coin “ bs NO IT IS NOT cheating to escape abuse and cheating as a response to an indifferent fiancee are completely different. Im not gonna sit here and hold Carcel to a different standard but I’m also not gonna sit here and call Ines’s suffering the same as Carcel’s
I’m not sure why her only option to escape Oscar is to get on top of a complete stranger and have sex with him. She was not in love with him. She went to a stranger’s room uninvited and had sex. Something that he didn’t even initiate since he was scared out of his wits. In my book, that was a terrible move. If a guy did the same thing, readers would be lambasting him and calling him trash.
I have no problem with Ines running away. She didn’t need to cheat. She could have ran away on her own with her maid or something. I’m not sure why that never occurred to readers. Getting on top of a man who is another man who is a complete stranger just magnified the problem and put her family in a heap of trouble. Please remember they don’t know anything. She is the one who chose Oscar and was in a romantic relationship with him for 10 years.
She cheated plain and simple She could have escaped some other way but she literally got on that man in the middle of the night let’s not forget that the dude was scared out of his mind and couldn’t even refuse him because of her position as a high ranking noble so he just had to accept it

Well to be fair ines was not great herself. She used him and forcefully made him get engaged to her. Then she decided to basically act cold and avoid him when they were still children after she forced them to get engaged. Basically imagine some dude forced you to be in an engagement then neglected you right after.
omfg i decided to reread while waiting for new chapters and now that im doing so, carcel lowkey pisses me off in most of the earlier chapters especially when he gets jealous of the men around ines, like genuinely what gives him the right to be jealous when he’s cheated on her w multiple women, but no its okay now bcs he’s only loyal to her
