Ash was in love with Nick and even after their breakup he couldn't move on so when he found out Nick and Kyle were together and on top of that Kyle turned Nick to an omega, Ash picked a fight with them trying to win Nick back ig, then Lyle intertwined and sent Ash off. I haven't read the novel so I don't know all the details though
