wow. i’m literally speechless. not only was this a story like none i’ve ever read, it was fleshed out so well that i felt like i knew each and every character personally. everyone was so multifaceted and complex that getting to know them was a wonderful experience. i grew to like the characters i hated, and i grew to hate the characters i thought i would like (sorry hamil). but despite my feelings, i understand why every character acted as they did, and their various motivations and beliefs make the story such an experience to read.
i love the mc. i love how she was not only strong, but also very vulnerable yet so selfless. she had so many reasons to live bitterly and full of hatred, but she continued to weep for those who hurt her.i love how the reveal of her being a woman was only a small part of her character, and that it served to show how much harder she had to work to not only hide her secret, but also become the ruler through the trials. and i love how doha didnt love her as a man or a woman, but who she was at her core. it hit so hard when he said he wished the mc was a man so her trials to get to her position wouldn’t have been as grueling as they were. it perfectly encapsulated his love for her soul, her tenacity, her bravery, and her selflessness that he fell in love with.
this story was an amazing action, romance, and just an overall experience to read. i’ve never felt such melancholy in finishing a story, or such a bitter sweet feeling in seeing that the characters are happy but knowing their story is over. i’ve felt such a wide range of emotions from this story that i can already feel the impending reading slump coming. this story was truly one of a kind, and i’m so glad i got to witness it.
i’m so down bad that i literally started writing like a literary critic the art was also FIRE ASF!! DOHA OMG ILYY HES SO HOT anyways love this story bye
