Honestly, same with yaoi... can you really consider it as a same-sex relationship if it's alpha-omega?
Tbh aside some really well written ones to me it's just... a cheap way to excuse and justify dub-con and non-con... and mpreg in some cases...
I think I like omegaverse better in futuristic settings where alpha physique is needed to pilot mechas and omega are needed to ensure strong offspring. In a normal modern setting... not much reason asides the "overcome by instincts unwilling smex"...

I mean, people like it in josei for the same reason they like it in yaoi. You can also have mpreg in yaoi without the weird omegaverse pheromone/heat stuff, but having that sort of animalistic urge can be interesting. And it's based on the real biological process of animals female that go into heat, so it's not something people just made up to let gays men breed haha. It's normally a heterosexual thing irl.
Oh! There's one like this! And well... alpha women in omegaverse... they have... y'know... dcks too... so... reversed but still het... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
There are some good omegaverse stories... but most of it is just... to justify dub-con e rapey... male preg and make male/male and female/female couples normalized in a weird way. It's easier to create a whole new gender setting to justifh it than just normalize it in a realistic setting... and to me that's the weird part...
It's I'm engaged to my omega teacher and it's killing me... yeah... the title sounds... very bad... but they get engaged through family matchmaking and not... yk... pedo...
Anyway... I'm more into alphaXalpha or a/oXbeta tbh... I try to read a bit of everything and I never had problems with assault and know some people have it as a kink so the rapey thing doesn't bother me too much depending on how's depicted... I mean... I get the appeal of someone being uncontrollably attracted to someone and even the dominating thing... but most of the time... they are meh...
Yeah... I got speechless too...
It's not just the rapey stuff in bl... from time to time everything in each genre starts to feel too similar even if they actually aren't... all romance feels the same, all action, all bl... then I try varying the country of origin... from jp to kr to chn... it helps... and when they sfart to feel similar it's cuz I had my fill from comics in general... then it's time for series and dramas... then novels then back to comics...
I never understood the need for omegaverse in Josei. Like the main characters are heterosexual anyway. They can have a child with no problem.
