DeLov keeps Seira with Gerard since she has the ability to stabilize Gerard's condition. Gerard is a descendant of the extinct 'Pian' tribe (if my memory serves me well) albeit the pink(red?) eyes. This tribe have certain abilities that varied for each person. Hence, deLov is using Gerard to outs the current king and put Gerard to the throne.
