Not getting married is not a big deal nowadays, but I guess it was for some places and in the past.

Karina's mom ain't that bad now that I think about it... I guess in their world the norm was people just married early, she didn't force Karina to marry someone she doesn't like at all. She did seem worried that Karina would end up marrying someone bad and incompetent.
