I agree with the comments saying this feels kind of one-sided for Ai, but I'm kind of okay with that. I see it in the way that Akihiko is still trying to find love in himself to give, or smth like that. He spent a long time just ignoring his emotional needs, so now that there's Ai here to drown him in affection it can be easy to be swept away, and it's not something he'd like to happen. So, yk, he'd want to take his time, and I think that's fine tbh. It's just kinda sad that we don't get to see more of their story (so far, at least, fingers crossed for a sequel maybe...) and find out how things turn out for them.

Not the best way to end a *romance,* strictly speaking, but as a story it's still pretty nice. Realistically it's normal for people's feelings to grow at different rates, but in romances you generally expect a more idealistic ending; which is why I understand some people might be unsatisfied. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I personally enjoyed it

It's def worth a read, just doesn't have a high odd of becoming your personal fave ig ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
