Duke truyde not only personally beated the shit out of Melmond after he found out that he has been secretly making an antidote but he also accused him of poisoning karas.

Ashler was stabbed by Duke truydes subordinate while he was trying to protect Abel and the others from Norhox crazy ass. Poor guy had to beg Truyde for mercy to carry Abel's dead body out of the R3gas palace while he was losing so much blood. Even after he did all that, him and the others (Nani, butler and melmond) were also almost killed by Karas after karas found out that Abel was not with them.

Nani and Butler also suffered severe beatings while trying to help and protect Abel from getting captured by Duke truyde. In the end, Abel personally went out of the dragons forest where he was safe from them and confronted Truyde himself, facing a terrifying situation where he was whipped and kissed(And almost SA'd). Fortunately, Abel discovered something that frightened Duke Truyde, changing the course of events.
