I think those southern guys at the festival saw him and reported back to his father. The father doesn't know that crystal is at the duke's house. He think crystal is just hiding out in the territory.
I hope that's the case. It's just the timing is a bit odd since Damian wanted crystal to be sent back after finding out he's a man
