Romantic or platonic, I give props to Jane for her development and her self-realization on how much that she is using Liz as her crutch and how much that while she have some SLIGHT influence, it still doesn't change the fact that most of the actions were mostly her own.
So props to her for cutting Liz out of her life in the most amicable way as possible.
And as for Liz, well...great power, comes with great responsibility.
