Bruh he needs money. This seemed like an easy job, and yes it was sketch but he turned down the sketchy offers. ML is just pressing him hard rn
That was obviously a bad idea. He is smart enough to know the guy is trying to lure him. Sincerely, it felt extremely forced to make him a dumb decision like that.
I blame on the author.
Because the story, after that, is just downhill... the ML just becames trash and then a flashback to their youth and back to reality where the bottom has to go talk to the top so they can make up.
