he probably doesn't want to trigger a trauma within mc, right? since he's dreaming about his past all the time, and the ml probably knows that could make him go into depression...
I am pretty sure he can avoid triggering trauma without being ambiguous as to what their relationship is and how he feels about MC. Also, if he really didn't want MC to remember, he would better off not meeting him in the fist place... idk, there is no excuse.
