I agree on some point tbh but I think it's for the better that they end the relationship. the ML is sacrificing his own sanity, his own passion and everything to the point that it becomes toxic for the both of them. It's like poisoning them both --in terms of love and their mentality too. It was explained throughout the story that the ML gave up the music to study law so that they won't break up but in the first place , The Ex and ML get to know each other through music right? In the end, we had our own perception to the stories and it's fine not liking another story and you explained it well too on why you're having a hard time liking this and it's okay.
I didn’t like the beginning and still don’t really but I think the outcome and what came from it was really amazing. Furthermore, it added a lot of depth to the ML.
Overall, (people will probably disagree but whatever) the reason why I don’t love this as much as I would is probably because It shows the ML having been in a long relationship with someone else, his ex. I know, I know I’m being super petty and dumb but it really annoyed me. Idk, maybe just the fact they loved each other and yet separated. It wasn’t because there wasn’t any love, if anything they still had so much love for each other. but because of circumstances that forced distance and created barriers, they broke up. for me, Emphasis on “For Me”, it kinda undermines the new relationship he has with MC. I understand it creates the basis for moving on and growing from the past. But it’s just sad, really sad. Specifically when ML and his ex makes promises like “don’t ever give up on me”. Comparing the end to the beginning is like night and day. And it really makes me sad because it tells the reader that some things are meant to go and aren’t made to last forever no matter how hard you wish for it to work. That’s why I can’t bring myself to love this story, does that kinda make sense. Am I making sense at all?
