I would love for granny to see Dan finally be happy before she pass away, that would be ideal. My theory though is that the author will use granny's passing as a catalyst to hurl Dan on a downward emotional spiral. His drinking and the way he hasn't been taking care of himself is foreshadowing that. However I'm not sure how jaekyung will play into this
Exactly, Granny might not get to see Dan truly happy. Hopefully she does, but if not, it will be a false happiness, like he is currently showing to his grandmother.
I think Jaekyung will talk with her again before she dies. Maybe even Heesung will meet her, now that he's at the coast filming! After all, she is a huge fan :)
It's likely that Jaekyung will have an important role in supporting Dan after Granny's death. I agree that Dan will probably have a downward spiral, as you said. He might lose his will to live once his grandmother is gone, and he will be weak and vulnerable. I wouldn't be surprised if the author has Jaekyung be the hero to help Dan through all of this. Helping him will motivate Jaekyung to get himself out of his own low point.

Dan is hurting himself with his alcoholism and the fact that he's overworking himself and is barely eating and sleeping. Right now, he is hanging by a thread, which is his grandmother. She is his only reason to live. He doesn't want to think about Jaekyung and the team because he feels so guilty. According to Dan, his whole life has been nothing but regrets. So, it's definitely a possibility that he could become suicidal after her death.
I agree, Jaekyung will be Dan's only real support! Potato, Heesung, and Boksoon and her puppies may make Dan feel better, but they can't heal him - only Jaekyung can do that

I have read comments that hope for Dan’s grandmother to get better. However, the sad reality is that Granny doesn’t have long to live and she will not get better. As we know, she is now in a hospice and has stopped all treatment. Hospice is for terminally ill patients who have six months or less to live. However, the average stay is much shorter than that. Sometimes a patient will live longer than six months, but that is the exception, not the rule.
Someone mentioned that they hope Granny sees Dan’s happy ending, and I also hope for that. But it won’t happen unless Dan and Jaekyung get together before Granny dies. Dan will not be truly happy until he’s in a loving relationship with Jaekyung, and vice versa. Readers who hate Jaekyung can try to deny this all they want, but this couple is endgame no matter what :)
