I think it’s because in Wet Sand, Ian and TJ have a mutual like..attraction? Obsession? They can’t seem to stay away from each other. On the other hand, Theo wants to actively avoid Gunner. He wants nothing to do with him. That makes Gunner come across as more of an asshole when he tries to pursue Theo.
All they did was sex and Ian also had ONS at that time, what's so special about TJ anyway? Did Ian can't live without him?No ..he wanted to move on but TJ didn't let him bc he's the selfish bastard he's the one who always come to Ian, Ian didn't look for him! Compare to feelings Theo is the one who can't move on from gunner until he met Dylan I don't see any romantic chemistry between Ian and TJ, even in the past Ian was already so broken and emotionless

Yeah I think fans also selectively forget that TJ basically ruined Ian’s career and nearly killed him just to keep him close. He also purposely sent him to jail. Just cause Ian consents to their sexual encounters doesn’t mean TJ isn’t abusive and I think fans forget that. He completely abuses the power he has to force Ian to stay in close proximity to him/be indebted to him which is super unhealthy.
It’s interesting how readers for this manhwa don’t like Gunner compared to readers of Wet Sand who LOVE TJ even though both characters are objectively bad partners and very toxic/abusive. Just a little observation cause I personally also hate Gunner and I also hate TJ. It’s refreshing when people use their brains.
