i was just about to mention "my lesbian experience with loneliness" untill i read the full comment. oops this might not be much help, but the rest of kabi nagata's works cover similar issues, so maybe check the rest of them out
and also, i 100% agree with what you said, while suffering is genderless, it would be so nice to see more women sharing their struggles, which ckuld maybe show younger girls that theyre not "strange" or "weird" for feeling the way they do as they start living life as teenagers/adults ╥﹏╥
Exactly! When reading all those stories about men suffering and grappling with their humanity i was like damn i relate…. But why is it that authors rarely address those same issues for women? I just wanna read stories that hit even closer to home yk loll
I always felt like i was weird for my struggles and experiences since they seemed so different from other girls. But i know many women and girls feel this way so where’s our blue period (one of my fav relatable mangas that again does not explore any female characters deeply smh)
WE STRUGGLE WITH ART AND IDENTITY AND FEELING OTHERED TOO
Anyway thank you for the suggestion I’ll check out the rest of Nagata’s work!
you know how mangas like sekine-kun no koi, homunculus and punpun speak to your soul but they are always about a man’s life and his perspective? I want a manga about a woman and her struggle for self acceptance and overcoming hardship. Basically i want an important or cool female mc for once. Women suffer too so where are those stories lol someone’s give me recs. psychological preferred but its not a requirement
i wanna see a woman’s self identity struggle or her struggle with being a shut in. Or her inner battle with herself etc
I just want these real struggles we all face to be portrayed from a woman’s perspective in a real and raw way and not in an artificial way like it was written by a guy who doesn’t get women you know?
Apologies for the long post I’m just very surprised I never found a manga/mahwa etc that encompasses this. Maybe the manga ‘my lesbian experience with loneliness’ but that’s it.. i never found another one that resonates
HUMAN SUFFERING IS GENDERLESS SHOW ME SOME SUFFERING (and hopefully overcoming that suffering but happy endings aren’t a requirement ig)
