I feel like I manage to have a slow life like that in the city. It's definitely easy to get caught up in toxic social circles or abusive workplaces, but there's also tons of cozy social groups and kind caring workplaces in the city too. I feel like in the city you can choose the groups of people you're with, while in the countryside you only get one so you have to hope you were born in a pleasant one because there's no alternatives. There's nothing wrong with the countryside and it's nice too, I'm just saying a cozy slice of life is possible anywhere. I think you can get a cozy slow life in either place though. Well I guess that's not fully true and I do have a preference, I like being able to do something whenever I have a bit of energy and want some fun because there's always things to do. But still either place can be cozy if you purposefully build a cozy life.
Working in the city really squeeze me emotionally. At first it's fun, of course. There's a lot going on the big city. But slowly and surely I was burnt out of my passion, I was afraid I would never be able to draw again.
Coming back home to the countryside is like a breath of fresh air (literally even, since the air's so fresh I was no longer constantly coughing). The slow, mundane life that is the countryside is like a balm healing my introverted soul.
Sometimes happiness is living a "boring" life.
