We literally get info dump within this chapter alone about the emperor repeatedly lying to the MC from a young age about ways of the palace in order to condition him. Emperor has isolated MC to the point he couldn’t see his family for 4 years. I’m sure there will be additional snippets of info dropped along the way to feed readers but as it stands all of the emperor’s actions are premeditated and supposedly been so for 17 years. An older child can very much groom a younger child. The fact we don’t speak about child on child abuse, or inappropriate behavior done before children is often why a lot of childhood trauma especially at a young age goes undiagnosed as it’s just seen as just “playing around”. A good current example funny enough is celebrity,Keke Palmer, who while promoting her autobiography ironically just weeks ago actually touches on her own experience of this very subject.

I’m not even surprised. This is the same community that will fight you to the death if you even so mention sexual violence maybe shouldn’t be romanticized for entertainment in almost all of the genre they so happily consume, and many couldn’t even distinguish between consensual healthy sex practices. When people say brain rot this is the example of this. Not consuming unhealthy media will make you want to mimic it but rather you become so desensitized you cannot make healthy nuanced connections of understanding in reality
Also there’s nothing wrong with enjoying this story. It’s understanding there are in fact elements of it that can be reasonably questioned and held into account before consuming this media with full understanding and ability to feel forewarned of what it entails
