What's the difference between subjects and courses?

Umm i think..Course: the degree or diploma program in which you are admitted. Subject: one unit of study which you enrol in as part of your course..

So...hang on, I haven't bothered to go back to check the numbers, but...FL has 6 of one and 12 of the other?
