I get the perspective, cause I love free shit, a lot of people have this idea that by reading illegally it relieves them of any moral responsibility because "at least the author doesn't get money for making fucked up shit", however in my experience, I've found that driving traffic to scanlation sites can incentivize foreign readers to go and read legally. Plus mngago and other sites that host scans are blocked in Korea, so the target demographic (Koreans) will usually just fork over the dabloons necessary to read. And again, I love free shit, but people don't realize that pirating doesn't hurt the bottom line of people who make the fucked up shit when EVERYTHING is pirated these days, even the unproblematic stuff. This isn't really targeted at you, but just a thing I've observed. I think if people genuinely want to see positive gay rep and less...aggressive stories, they should be legally reading those stories instead. But obviously that's not going to happen when content-reuploading machines like this exist to give everyone everything for free. So at that point, what's even the incentive for artists to make cute, wholesome, sensitive stories when people will just fuck them out of their work? That's why we will always continue to see generic shovelware torture BL forever. Because at least it sells to the actual paying audience.
