My biggest issue with this scene is that it's the same old "villain tries to rape MC and is just about a second away from fully entering them when ML interrupts and saves the day" trope that we always see. It's like the tv trope of diffusing the bomb just as the timer hits 1 second.

It's tired and played out.

I'd like to see more variety in how these plots are handled. MC is saved much earlier in the process. MC escapes on their own. ML is too late, and the story needs to deal with the consequences.

Although that last one requires handling mature topics with care, and the "BL story treats rape/SA as a serious topic and actually acknowledges it when it happens challenge" is practically impossible.

I'm just annoyed with always seeing the same plot over and over again. MC and ML start to get their relationship in order in the second half of a story. Author needs drama. Antagonist kidnaps MC and waggles their dick around before lightly pressing the tip against MC's hole. ML rushes in and saves the day.

If it's always going to be the same thing, I'd really rather skip it.

Without spoiling to much, I feel like The Dukes Private Tutor handles similar topics very well, both with the idea of an outside assailant and the idea of abuse coming from inside the relationship on both ends. Additionally the dynamics are really sweet, it’s definitely a heavy tone shift away from this train wreck but I 100% recommend it
