RIGHT!!! That's what I've been saying. There's way too much emphasis on Mc's morals and thoughts. The author is painting the emperor as the villain, when there wouldn't be reason to if this were to end without any kind of revenge / redemption
I assume it gets worse before it gets better so a few more horrid scenes and a revenge arc so epic it will maybe save this story(hopefully).
Everything is so incredibly violently drawn and the dialogue so painfully sharply written, I think it stands out because it does not shirk how disgusting it all is. Other toxic BLs shy away from the ugly but this one is mask off .
